Our Native Speakers

Mr.Suyanto with Mrs Drucilla and Mrs. Sarah

To support students? abilities in English, in SIIP we have a native speaker who guides us to speak English fluently. Our first native speaker was Mrs. Drucilla Sanusi, but now she's left us and she had been replaced by Mrs. Sarah.

Mrs. Drucilla is an American who is married to an Indonesian man, Mr. Adang Sanusi. He was working for UN in Islamabad, but he's working in Kosovo right now. Mrs. Dru was a very nice person, she knows Indonesia a lot and she's been to Indonesia for several times. He started teaching us in the beggining of 98. When she was still teaching us, she liked to take us out to some cool places. She was really a nice teacher. The students who have been taught by her are: Arga, Retno, Putri, Donny, Lily, Istiqomah, Yesa, Dimas, Tasa, Benny, Lynda and Nur. Mrs. Dru can also speak Indonesian a bit, so that?s why we couldn?t speak Indonesian while she was teaching us. I think she really enjoyed teaching us for about two years.

What about Mrs. Sarah?. Well she's an English woman who is married to a Pakistani. She?s been in Pakistan for a very long time and she speaks Urdu fluently. Her English is so different with Mrs. Dru's, her english is so British and it sometimes makes us a bit confused. Not like Mrs. Dru, Mrs. Sarah knows nothing about Indonesia. That's why she?s so curious about knowing Indonesia more, she often makes us to do homeworks about Indonesian culture and everything, I guess she really wants to go to Indonesia. (Tasa N. Barley).
